158 Year old Live Edge Red Oak Table

158 Year old Live Edge Red Oak Table for sale. The wood used is as old as Confederation. It came from my property in the Oakwood area of Scarborough. It was cut from our tree right on the front lawn using a Stihl portable saw mill. Then air dried indoors for four years before being finished with 100% natural oils , sourced specifically for their lack of artificial ingredients. After meticulous sanding and shaping to enhance the feel and look of the natural wood, the finish was applied by hand in ten layers over the course of a full month and then buffed by hand. This is definitely NOT an epoxy or polyurethane finished table. The only non-natural ingredients used were a minimal amount of epoxy to fill cracks and knots (unavoidable). It is possible to see deeply into the largest knot as the epoxy used is clear, not pigmented (by design). In case you are wondering, the tree was not felled for this project- it was simply at the end of it's life and sadly, it fell. The Bicycle shot is only to show the size, bike not included. Stump also NOT included and is shown only in reverence and appreciation of this wonderful tree. This table can serve many purposes among them: sideboard, hall entrance table, writing desk (sans computer) etc. The legs are powder coated glossy, rust-proof steel, and smooth to the touch. Dimensions are as follows: 34 inches tall, 57 inches long, 15 1/2 inches wide on right end, 14 1/4 inches wide on Left end, at it's widest it is 16 3/4 inches. The table is 1 1/4 inch thick. I am asking only $1,000 for this treasure.
