Item Description
Up for sale is a beautifully detailed, vintage Celestial / Astrological Trinket Box produced by the renowned studio 3D Artifacts.
Often misidentified online as "Aztec Style," this highly collectible, heavy cold-cast faux stone box actually showcases a stunning European Renaissance astronomical design. The artwork replicates historical printing plates from the famous 19th-century Italian publishing house Unione Tipografico-Editrice Torinese.
Design Features:
• Lid: Features an intricate "La Rosa dei Venti" (Compass Rose) central motif bordered by the Latin inscription "LINEA EQUINOCTIALIS" (Equator) along with a complete ring of Latin calendar months and zodiac signs.
• Side Panels: Surrounded by deeply carved relief banners representing constellations like "CANCER" and "GEMINI" overlapping the coordinate bands of an Armillary sphere ("TROPICVS CANCRI").
• Interior & Provenance: The interior base reveals this piece was commissioned as an elite corporate recognition award for the Investors Group President's Club in 2003, featuring subtle bilingual branding embedded directly into the lower core matrix.
• Base: The bottom of the piece features a hand-incised script signature from the master sculptor, Jeff Widderich.
This heavy, tactile box is perfect for storing jewelry, tarot cards, or keepsakes, and serves as an excellent decor piece for dark academia, gothic, or nautical-themed spaces
