Item Description
Style: Traditional Japanese Satsuma-style export ware.
Subject: Highly detailed Hanaguruma (traditional Japanese flower cart/chariot) motif overflowing with large peonies, chrysanthemums, and autumn florals.
Accentuation: Embellished with thick, raised polychrome enamel infill and elegant gold-gilt highlights (moriage style detailing).
Glaze Finish: Striking, intentional overall fine spiderweb crackle glaze (crazing) over a creamy ivory ground.
Base Mark: Features the authentic red square backstamp reads “美術陶器” (Bijutsu Toki / Fine Art Ceramics) alongside “JAPAN”, dating the piece to the mid-20th century (circa 1960s).
