Vintage Bossons Chalkware Heads – Mr. Pickwick & Sarah Gamp

Pair of vintage Bossons chalkware wall plaques from the Charles Dickens Characters series, made in Congleton, England. Both pieces are stamped and dated on the back: “Mr. Pickwick © 1964 Bossons England” and “Sarah Gamp © 1964 Bossons England.” Mr. Pickwick – bald, bespectacled, cheerful with curly side hair and a pink cravat/collar. Sarah Gamp – bonneted woman with a warm expression, green collar. Hand-painted plaster/chalkware construction, wall-hanging with rope mounts. Some paint loss and wear visible (see photos) consistent with age — a great pair for a Dickens or literary-themed collection, priced accordingly for the condition. Sold as a pair.
