Stunning matched pair of vintage Japanese Satsuma earthenware vases decorated in the traditional Meiji taste. Each vase features continuous narrative panels depicting imperial court officials, noble figures, and samurai warriors set against mountainous landscape backgrounds, alternating with rich cobalt blue panels of blooming floral chrysanthemums and peonies. Lavishly finished with raised beaded enameling (moriage), heavy gilt brocade collars at the shoulders, and geometric checkered borders around the bases. Both vases feature the classic finely crackled pale cream interior and underside glaze. Each base bears hand-painted studio identification marks, gold cartouche remnants, and vintage "Splendors of Meiji - Treasures of Imperial Japan" collection labels.
