36 Vintage WWI Military History Magazines Collection

Large collection of 36 vintage First World War military-history magazines, consisting primarily of Purnell’s illustrated History of the First World War series. 35 different issues/titles are represented, plus one duplicate copy of The Great Retreat. These vintage publications are extensively illustrated with historical photographs, artwork, maps, military equipment, propaganda, uniforms, ships, aircraft and detailed articles covering the major battles, campaigns, personalities and developments of the First World War. The collection covers an unusually broad range of WWI history, including Gallipoli, Ypres, trench warfare, the Christmas Truce, Tannenberg, the Marne, Warsaw, Serbia, Turkey, the German Navy, early military aviation, Edith Cavell, Kitchener, the Western Front, naval warfare and the opening campaigns of 1914–15. Good overall vintage/pre-owned condition considering their age, with normal signs of handling, storage, edge/corner wear and age. Condition varies somewhat between issues.
