Gorgeous Megalodon Fossil Shark Tooth from the Miocene of Java, Indonesia. These are extracted by commercial miners. Often found damaged, incomplete, repaired, or restored, this one is a diamond in the rough. With a lava orange bourlette and beautiful dark peach enamel, it is worthy of display for any seasoned collector. There are no repairs or restorations on this specimen, which is 4.75" in diagonal length along the longest side. Authenticity has been verified using a UV light test to look for artificial materials, and a digital scope to ensure that the serrations are natural. If this is your first fossil, I highly advise you consult the American Museum of Natural History's resource on Storage Environments. This provides an overview of appropriate temperature, humidity, and sun exposure (i.e., ideally none) to keep your fossil in good condition. Pickup in Vaughan, North York, or Scarborough. Shipping available throughout Canada.
