Florentine Giltwood Green and Gold Tray
$150
Florentine giltwood serving tray — made in Florence, Italy, circa 1950s–60s. It's lightweight wood coated in gesso, painted that pistachio green, then hand-gilded with gold leaf in the classic scroll-and-palmette pattern, with a scalloped "pie-crust" rim and handles.
In the mid 20 century, workshops in Florence made thousands of these for export — they're a mid-century / Hollywood Regency staple.
This green-and-gold handled scalloped tray is one of the desirable ones, and the gilt wear at the rim is normal age patina, not damage.
