Printed by The Northwest Paper Company in Minnesota. Arnold Freiberg did a series of paintings for the Northwest Paper company calendars for the printing trade that were very popular. The paper company wanted to prove the quality of their paper and its ability to hold gorgeous colors so the company chose the subject of the mounties in their iconic red jackets and the beautiful landscapes of the Canadian wilderness. (Surely one of the great marketing moves of all time.) These prints measure 12 & 1/2” by 9 & 1/4”, the actual pictures measure 11 & 3/8” by 8 & 7/8” and shows the work of Arnold Friberg. One is without border and it measures 10 & 1/2” by 8 & 3/8”. They are not dated but it was printed for the Northwest Paper Company in the 1950’s or 1960’s. They have never been framed and appearance varies somewhat among the prints, they are all brightly colored, most with a shiney finish. Over a period of 43 years, Friberg printed close to 300 "Mountie" paintings that became print and posters for the Northern Paper Company. All have pictures of a Canadian Mountie and parts of their Job. Friberg became the only American made an honorary member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. $20 for each print.
