Antique Elephant or water buffalo bronze bell Burmese
$100
Antique Bronze Tiger Face Bell, also commonly known as a Giant Face Amulet or a Bilu (Ogre) Bell. These items are traditional protective talismans. The face design often represents a Bilu, a ferocious ogre from Burmese folklore. According to legend, these demons renounced their evil ways after hearing the Buddha's teachings and became guardians of the Buddhist cause. In some cultures, especially Shamanic traditions in China and Tibet, these are called "Tiger Bells" due to the face's resemblance to a tiger or the presence of the Chinese character Wang (王, meaning "king") on the forehead, which is traditionally associated with tigers.
