Vintage “The Town Clock NS” coloured engraving by the Canadian artist Nicholas Hornyansky. Signed by the artist to the bottom right. Circa 1941. Published by Ralph-Clark-Stone Ltd. 1941 and is noted to the bottom left. Nicholas Hornyansky (1896-1965) was born in Budapest and emigrated to Canada in 1929. He became a Canadian citizen in 1934. He was a member of many prestigious organizations. Further information about this artist and the clock can be found on the dust cover and with the Naval Archives- the Canadian Collection. Good condition. Professionally framed and matted. Any wear commensurates with the age. Art is approximately 17” wide and 20.5” long. Frame is approximately 23.5” wide and 28.5” long.
