- Unit works and has a flavor of Linux installed on it. I can install Ubuntu Server on it prior to - 320 GB Hard Disk, I think it has 4 GB of RAM (memory). Not sure about CPU. - Panel on the side opens easily - Good for ethical hackers (in the making) - There is a Windows Vista Home Premium Key that came with it. I am not sure if that version of Windows can still run on this machine. But you could use the key to install Vista Home Premium on another machine? (play older video games etc) - Important: The power on button is a bit finicky. You have to hold it for 5 to 8 seconds (maximum of 10 to 12 seconds) for the machine to bootup (See sub items below also) - - There is a panel outside of the CDROM/DVD tray. You can just take it out. As it is manual. The drive itself works fine - - Requires a wifi usb key. You can purchase these, anywhere from $2 to $6 US (4 to $8 Canadian). Often they are on sale at Walmart etc Otherwise, the machine still functions well. It can remained powered on for extended time periods. Everything else works (cpu fan, power supply fan etc) Note: -Comes with power cable and I'll throw in an older keyboard. The keyboard works, but the cable is a bit loose - You just need to plug it in a monitor (vga only) for the machine to load linux. No mouse needed. And wifi adapter (see above) - I tried booting from USB and I cannot remember if it worked. I think not. Because I recall burning an image on DVD from another computer and then I was able to load the flavor of Linux that I thought would run well on this old machine. And it did! Like I said. The machine is good for someone with a learners mindset. You dont need to have a physical machine to run any OS (Operating System). You can certainly run linux on virtual machines (Called VMs) via VirtualBox by Oracle or Qemu) Or VMs on the cloud (Amazon, Google, Oracle). I dont think this box is powerful enough for you to run VMs on it. If you'd like, you basically have a machine to practice Linux on. And if you misconfigure something, you can backtrack. Recover from your backups. If all else fails, you can reinstall a fresh OS and start again. Priced for sale to a learner or enthusiast. I hope you are not purchasing the unit to salvage parts for sale. thanks
