It has a 12 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor and 5x optical zoom lens which is a 35mm equivalent of 28-140mm. There is sensor shift image stabilisation to help take the sharpest pictures possible, and the camera can record full resolution images at 5 fps. To make picture taking as easy as possible there is iAuto mode, which automatically adjusts the camera settings for the detected scene. There is also a number of scene modes, as well as beauty, super macro and panorama modes. To help take creative pictures there are 11 magic filters. Videos are recorded in full 1080p HD with multi-motion movie IS to keep your videos steady even when handheld. The TG-630 can also record high-speed videos at 120 fps and 240 fps. There is also a small groove on the top of the camera for your thumb to rest in. Also on the top is the on / off button, shutter release and zoom rocker. Buttons on the back include movie record, playback, menu and LED illuminator as well as a joystick used for cycling through the menus. The rest of the rear of the camera is filled with the 3.0 inch screen which has a decent 460k dot resolution and is easy to see in varying light. The shooting settings are down the right hand side of the screen, with the available options listed dependent on the mode you are in. The rest of the settings are available via the menu button. Battery life is rated at 270 shots according to CIPA test results.
