Antique WS Darley Mining Compass & Case w/ Instructions

For sale is a vintage W.S. Darley & Co. Dip Needle Surveying Compass, complete with its original case. This piece is in excellent condition, with the case showing minor wear consistent with its age. It includes the original chain and the needle moves freely. The compass is designed to measure earth's magnetic field intensity and can be used to locate buried pipes, water mains, or ore deposits. It features aluminum and brass construction with glass plates. The instrument is in excellent condition, and the included instruction manual is in mint condition, having been stored in the case for many decades. I have two of these available.
