Karolina was established in 1860 by German entrepreneur Traugott Silber under the name of Königszelt. In 1872, the factory was known as H & R Königszelt when August Rappsilber and Carl Hackmann joined. After the World War II factory was taken over by Polish government and in 1954 the factory was renamed to Karolina. In 1993, the factory was privatized. Based on the backstamp, these plates were manufactured sometime between 1954 and 1993.
