Hand-Carved Traditional Indian Jharokha – Reclaimed Wood & Metal
This beautiful, hand-carved traditional Indian Jharokha is crafted from reclaimed wood and metal. It’s a substantial, heavy piece—likely made from ironwood or another dense hardwood. It features intricate floral patterns carved into individual panels, framed by decorative geometric and leaf-motif borders. The craftsmanship is remarkable from every angle; even the back is a work of art with its mix of wood types, grains, textures, and natural colour variations.
I purchased this Jharokha years ago along with several other furniture pieces, directly from a container shipment arriving from India.
Measuring 26” wide, 43” high, and approximately 6” deep, it has a presence that makes it ideal as a wall feature, architectural accent, or statement décor piece.
While I’ve seen other Jharokha pieces online, none match the character of this one. Its intricate hand carving, uncommon wood, subtle colour shifts, and perfectly balanced proportions make it truly unique.
