William “Wally” Shoop Signed Ltd Ed Bronze Wolf Sculpture 🐞

Renowned artist William Walter “Wally” Shoop Sr.’s signed vintage limited edition solid bronze “Howling Wolf” sculpture standing atop a rocky boulder and mounted on a walnut wood base. Signed and dated by the artist as shown in the photographs. Circa 1985. Numbered 627/1000. A collectible piece. William Walter “Wally” Shoop Sr. (1941-2023) was born in Sioux City, Iowa where he grew up with a passion for nature and art caving early sculptures from sandstone using a screwdriver as a child in Rapid City, South Dakota. Shoop was also a talented musician with the highlight of his career being inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 as a member of the band Billy Rat and the Finks. Shoop shifted his creative focus in 1970 to primarily sculpting inspired by wildlife and nature. He founded American Casting Ltd which was started in his basement and a barn into an established casting foundry in Osceola, Wisconsin. His artistic tradition continued through his family. Shoop is known for his detailed bronze sculptures depicting animals, birds, such as eagles and ravens and Western wildlife subjects. His works have been featured across numerous public auctions, collections and sold all over the world and is still being produced today. Good condition overall. Some wear to the walnut wood base which commensurates with the age. The bronze wolf sculpture is approximately 6.5” wide and 8.2” tall. The entire sculpture including the walnut wood base is approximately 10.2” tall. Weighs approximately 7 lbs. ***Shipping is available.
