10Vintage Sculpture - dimensions are ; 20 1/4" tall , with a base measurement of 6 3/4" deep X 7 1/4" wide . Material is heavy plaster finished in black . This beautiful period piece was created in 1967 by Dutch painter and sculptor Theodore DeGroot , born in Scheveningen , The Netherlands on Dec 15 , 1920 , and died at Saucon Valley Manor , Hellertown Pa . on July 20 , 2019 at the age of 98 . He attended The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague where he studied sculpture and painting . He was employed by the Berger of the Dutch Royal House and designed objects and medallions for the Dutch Royal Family . He has an extensive biography of prolific creation . This sculpture , titled 'PASSION' was reproduced by Austin Studios Productions and dates from 1967 . It depicts a man and woman . He stands behind her seemingly having just removed a cloak from her which he grasps in his hands , hands that hold hers at her side as he pulls her close to his body , kissing her shoulder as she responds moving her head back in a movement of passion . Interestingly , she is sculpted in an ultra smooth fashion while he is sculpted in quite a rough hewn style , as though his figure itself represents a sculpture within this sculpture .
